Position Summary
Under direction of the President & CEO, the Vice President – Business & Consumer Markets is responsible for telecommunication product and data engineering, business solutions development, mobility, internet, security and landline sales and related advertising and promotion.
Major Responsibilities
- Participate fully with the President & CEO and other members of the Executive Management Team, in the development of TBayTel’s Strategic Plans as they relate to its operations.
- Plan and implement short and long range objectives for the Business and Consumer Markets division consistent with TBayTel’s Strategic Plan.
- Assist in the development, introduction and implementation of all product growth and life cycle plans
- Manage and direct staff in the operation, planning, deployment and administration of the division.
- Manage and direct the preparation and administration of the annual capital and operating budgets for the division, while ensuring budget requests are consistent with operating objectives and maintain optimum cost-benefit relationships.
- Monitor technological, industry and regulatory trends to identify new business opportunities or methods and to co-ordinate the deployment of telecommunications services to customers using the latest technology.
- Liaise with government officials, telecommunications companies, equipment suppliers, community leaders and groups on issues related to the planning of telecommunication services.
- Manage and plan for short and long term staffing and organizational requirements making recommendations to ensure the continued efficiency and effectiveness of the Division.
- Manage and direct the preparation of reports, business cases, customer surveys and studies and provide recommendations related to the implementation of new and existing telecommunications services.
- Performs other related duties as may be required.
Qualifications
A University Degree in Business Administration or in an associated discipline, and a minimum of 10 years experience in the Telecommunications industry, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must possess a working knowledge of a wide range of telecommunications equipment, telecom operating procedures, industry and regulatory trends and marketing and sales strategies. Requires an ability to communicate effectively and concisely, both orally and in writing. Possesses strong interpersonal and communications skills. Possesses the ability to communicate with the public, press and all other company stakeholders with the highest standards of business etiquette and integrity.
